Status:                Part Time Temporary

Specific Assignment:

Work with a team to perform maintenance and minor construction on school buildings, systems and grounds. Hours will average approximately 16 to 20 hours per week, depending on assignment. 

 

General Description:

Under general supervision, provide labor on a full or part time temporary basis to support the various departments and functions of the District. Duties may include but are not limited to support and maintenance of grounds, buildings, custodial, technology, clerical, instruction, transporation, inventory and other duties as assigned. Duties may range from assignments that require specific skills or training to those with no required skills, training or experience. Those in certain assignments are expected to be able to solve problems and work independently. All must be able to follow direction and work efficiently.

 

 

Essential Job Elements:

  1. Support and work effectively with supervisors and other staff.
  2. Coordinate and work cooperatively with other departments and staff as needed.
  3. May lead or direct the work of others, as assigned.
  4. Work with vendors and contractors to complete projects, resolve problems and facilitate work as needed.
  5. Provide appropriate care for the safekeeping and protection of District equipment, tools, facilities and other assets.
  6. Assures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and requirements.
  7. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff and management related information.
  8. Supports with integrity the mission, vision, goals and positive culture of Joseph City Schools.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1. At least 16 years of age.
  2. Communication skills sufficiently effective to perform assigned duties.
  3. Other qualifications may vary by specific assignment.

 

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching,

handling, pushing, pulling and may require driving an automobile, pickup truck or other machinery for some assignments. Strenuous manual labor, overhead work, work in confined spaces and at heights and ability to lift 10 to 50 pounds depending on assignment. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. Repetative motions with wrists, hands and fingers.

 

Working Conditions:

Employee may regularly work both indoors and outdoors. May work with or near motorized tools and mechanical equipment. May occasionally work in high areas such as on rooftops, lifts or scaffolding, and in confined spaces. Noise level in the work environment may be moderate to high. May be subject to vibrations, mechanical and electrical hazards. Occasionally subject to fumes and dust. Caution necessary to avoid harm from misuse of chemicals and loud noise. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with time constraints and interact with students, other employees, and public.
