General Description:
Under direct supervision, plan and implement initiatives and activities of the District’s “Promoting a Healthy Drug-Free Community” program as funded by the Arizona Parents Commision on Drug Education and Prevention and the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family.
Essential Job Elements:
- Oversee, organize, and initiate the purchase of instructional and educational materials for students and parental workshops. Ensure these materials coordinate with the ‘RX360” research-based curriculum resources provided by the state.
- Understand and promote Trauma Informed Care (TIC) training and decision making with staff in regards to implementing curriculum and organizing activities.
- Organize any necessary training for specialist or other instructional staff.
- Oversee, organize, and initiate the evaluation review of the instructional and educational programs including survey administration and collection; inititiate the purchase of related materials.
- Document and track all progress and work completed associated with this project.
- Oversee the implementation and periodic review of the progress of project goals.
- Organize and participate with the Joseph City Youth, Faith, and Family Committee, including arranging and facilitating the meetings.
- Review and assist with updating and implementing the Joseph City Unified School District Wellness Policy.
- Make recommendations for hiring of staff who have responsibilities for helping to implement the District project.
- Supervise and evaluate staff, tutors, and mentors who have project responsibilities.
- Supervise and evaluate all promotional and engagement activities related to the project
- Clearly communicate and provide updates to administration and other stakeholders on the implementation and activities of the project.This will include using and promoting social media software to communicate with students and stakeholders.
- Organize mentoring and tutoring as decided upon by administration and/or the committee.
- Assist in organizing and implementing activities or programs suggested by the committee, such as intramural activities.
- Solicit support and involvement from student organizations.
- May lead or direct the work of others, as assigned.
- Provide appropriate care for the safekeeping and protection of District equipment, tools, facilities and other assets.
- Assures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and requirements.
- Supports with integrity the mission, vision, goals and positive culture of Joseph City Schools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivilent.
- Communication and interpersonal skills sufficiently effective to perform assigned duties.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, moving, sitting, speaking, hearing, reaching with arms and hands, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers.
Working Conditions:
Employee may regularly work both indoors and outdoors. Noise level in the work environment may be moderate to high. The work environment may vary from extremely cold to extremely hot. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with time constraints and interact with students, other employees, and public.
